Professor Herbert Kubicek - Director of the Institute for Information Management Bremen

Professor Herbert Kubicek has been a professor for Applied Computer Science focusing on Information Management and Telecommunication, at the University of Bremen, Germany, since 1988. He is also a Director of the Institute for Information Management Bremen (ifib) since 2003 (http://www.ifib.de).
He has been a member of several commitees and study groups dealing with “Germany´s Way” into the Information Society, including German Federal Parliament, and is Scientific Director of the Digital Opportunites Foundation, Berlin, Germany (http://www.stiftung-digitale-chancen.de).
Professor Kubicek is currently researching the implementation of interorganizational information networks in the public, private and third sector. His international studies involve comparisons of various information societies (including those in the United States and Germany, with a focus on public administration, schools and interactive television). His further research covers comparative studies on e-Government for the Europran Commission. He is also co-organiser of international conferences on the Digital Divide with particular focus on disadvantaged youth.
